This year. This February in fact -
just before the Blossom Trail alas - I was incredibly grateful and humbled to be invited to Japan to cover 10 cities in twelve days playing drums.
What a treat!
Every single destination
From Tokyo to Chiba
Yokohama to Nagoya
Gifu and Mount Fiji
Shizuoka
Kobe
Osaka
Kyoto
offered not just a palette of the most beautiful food,
But the perfect harmony of human warmth.
It reawakened my vigour for life in so many ways I can’t even begin to put into words.
The professionalism
Coupled with good teams
Kind people
Open people
Allowed me to be grateful just to breathe air again
Let alone play drums
I have so many thank you to make It will take weeks possibly months to compile the names of all those souls who taught me something
Or gave me something
Intellectually
Spiritually whatever
But it starts with Daniel Najmi
A young entrepreneur in his own right who has vigour
And a vision
To connect souls and cultures through music
No better tour manager could ever be found
It also extends to my sound engineer Matthew Clarke
Who is just sublime to work with
Arigato gazymas
Thank you Japan
You made my life more fulfilled
With love
